N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiling NABARD credit plan for 2026–27 in AmaravatiChandrababu Naidu launches ₹5.11 lakh crore NABARD credit plan for Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday unveiled the State Focus Paper of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development for 2026–27, projecting a massive credit outlay of ₹5.11 lakh crore to boost Andhra Pradesh’s economy.

The proposed credit plan marks a 20% increase from the previous year’s ₹4.2 lakh crore, signalling a strong push towards agriculture, rural development and industrial growth in the state.

A significant share of the credit—around ₹2.5 lakh crore—has been earmarked for the agriculture sector. This includes major allocations for crop loans, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture and farm mechanisation, reflecting the state’s continued focus on strengthening its agrarian base.

The plan also gives importance to infrastructure and allied activities in agriculture, while extending substantial support to the MSME sector with a credit provision of about ₹1.64 lakh crore.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasised that agriculture—especially horticulture and aquaculture—remains a key driver of the state’s economy. He urged banks and financial institutions to actively support farmers and ensure that credit reaches the grassroots level effectively.

Naidu also highlighted the state’s ambitious targets in horticulture production and called for coordinated efforts between banks, NABARD and government agencies to achieve them.

Officials from NABARD and representatives of major banks were present during the launch of the credit plan.
