New Delhi: The Union Government is set to launch a revamped version of the Stand-Up India Scheme to provide enhanced support to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and women entrepreneurs.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Lok Sabha that the earlier version of the scheme, launched in 2016, concluded last year and is now being redesigned to improve its effectiveness and expand its reach. The revamp follows a review by NITI Aayog and other departments.
The scheme facilitates bank loans ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore for greenfield enterprises in manufacturing, services, trading, and allied agricultural sectors. It aims to improve access to institutional credit, promote entrepreneurship among under-represented groups, and support inclusive economic growth.
