The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has introduced BRIDGE — short for Business Revolution through Innovation, Digital Growth & Enterprise — a first-of-its-kind programme designed to create structured pathways between large corporates, MSMEs, and innovative startups.

What Is the BRIDGE Programme?

Launched from Kochi, BRIDGE is a corporate-startup convergence initiative that helps established businesses adopt, invest in, and acquire cutting-edge technologies developed by startups. The programme is exclusively open to corporates and MSMEs with annual revenues exceeding Rs 50 crore, making it a targeted platform for growth-ready enterprises seeking digital transformation.

Why BRIDGE? Addressing a Critical Gap in India’s Innovation Ecosystem

India currently has over 1.1 lakh registered startups and more than 63 million MSMEs, yet structured collaboration between these two segments has remained limited. This gap has led to slower technology adoption and missed business opportunities on both sides — an issue BRIDGE directly aims to solve.

Key Targets and Outcomes

KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika outlined ambitious goals for the programme over the next three years:

  • Over 500 corporate-startup partnerships
  • More than 100 technology adoptions
  • Corporate investments exceeding Rs 250 crore in curated, technology-focused startups

“BRIDGE is designed to create a structured pathway for collaboration between startups and established businesses with measurable outcomes, fixed timelines and end-to-end partnership support,” Ambika said.

How Can Corporates and MSMEs Participate?

The programme offers multiple engagement avenues for participating organisations:

  • Technology adoption — Integrate startup-built solutions to improve operational efficiency and revenue
  • Investment opportunities — Fund high-potential startups aligned with your sector
  • Acquisition support — Explore technology or startup acquisitions through facilitated discussions
  • Operational scaling — Leverage startup innovation without heavy in-house R&D spending

Programme Features

BRIDGE comes with a robust support infrastructure, including demo days, pilot project frameworks, AI-assisted investment matchmaking, transaction support for pilots and acquisitions, and access to an exclusive network of corporate and MSME leaders. Participants also receive co-branding opportunities and national recognition as innovation champions.

Which Industries Will Benefit?

KSUM expects significant impact across sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, retail, healthcare, agri-tech, banking and financial services (BFSI), and professional services — all industries undergoing rapid digital transformation.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible participants include CEOs, managing directors, founders, COOs, and senior executives from corporates and MSMEs with annual revenues of Rs 50 crore and above. Applications for the first BRIDGE cohort are now open.
