If you have been following global health innovation trends, Taiwan just made a big move. On May 27, 2026, Taiwan officially launched the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign — a major international initiative that invites countries, businesses, and organisations from around the world to collaborate with Taiwan on health and wellness solutions.

This is not just another government campaign. It is a serious, well-funded push to position Taiwan as the world’s go-to partner for smart healthcare, sports technology, and sustainable living.

What Is This Campaign All About?

The campaign is organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), working under the commission of the International Trade Administration (TITA) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The core idea is simple but powerful — Taiwan wants to connect its world-class expertise in three specific areas with global partners who need solutions:

— Smart Healthcare (AI-powered medical tools, precision health systems) — Sports and Fitness Technology (smart fitness devices, wearables) — High-End Bicycles and Low-Carbon Mobility

Under the theme “Designing Healthier Futures Together,” the campaign invites governments, hospitals, research institutions, startups, and businesses to submit innovative proposals. The best ideas will receive real funding and support to be implemented on a global scale.

Why Taiwan Is Doing This

Speaking at the campaign’s launch press conference, TITA Director General William Liu made the government’s intentions very clear. He said that “Healthy Taiwan” is one of the government’s core policy visions and that this campaign is designed to push Taiwan’s image as a global leader in health innovation.

The goal is not just to showcase Taiwanese products. Taiwan wants to build long-term partnerships with countries and organisations that share its vision for healthier, more sustainable communities.

TAITRA President and CEO Simon Wang added that the campaign will run alongside major international trade shows and business networking events, giving Taiwanese companies direct access to global buyers, investors, and startup communities.

Last Year’s Campaign Was a Huge Success

This is not Taiwan’s first attempt at this kind of global outreach. The 2025 edition of the campaign received an impressive 638 proposals from 55 countries, proving there is genuine global interest in what Taiwan has to offer.

Building on that success, organisers are expecting over 800 proposals from across five continents in the 2026 edition — a clear sign that the initiative is growing rapidly.

What Happened at the Launch Event

The official launch event on May 27 drew nearly 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from major Taiwan industry bodies such as the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, and Taipei Veterans General Hospital. Foreign diplomatic representatives stationed in Taiwan also attended.

A highlight of the event was the “Health AI Hub” product experience zone, where leading Taiwanese companies showcased their latest innovations. Companies like Acer Gadget, Tokuyo, Makalot, and Ideas Lab demonstrated everything from smart fitness solutions and precision healthcare devices to healthy aging management systems and low-carbon transportation technology.

Winners Get $30,000 — And a Global Stage

Here is what makes this campaign especially attractive for startups and innovators. The top three winning teams will each receive US$30,000 (approximately ₹25 lakh) to support the implementation of their proposals.

On top of the prize money, the top three winners from the 2025 campaign have already been invited to share their collaboration stories at the Taiwan Expo in Poland this June — giving them a global platform to showcase their work.

How to Apply

Applications for the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” campaign are now open. The deadline to submit proposals is August 5, 2026. Governments, businesses, research institutions, hospitals, and startups from any country are eligible to apply.

This is a rare opportunity for Indian healthcare companies, startups, and institutions to partner with Taiwan’s booming health technology sector, access funding, and gain international visibility.

Why This Matters for India

India and Taiwan have been quietly growing their trade and technology ties in recent years. With India’s own push for healthcare innovation and digital health solutions under initiatives like Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, there is strong potential for Indian organisations to benefit from this collaboration.

For Indian health startups, hospitals, and technology companies, the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” campaign could be the perfect launchpad to go global.
